Riss Lake is Our Home

The Riss Lake Community is special. Neighbors helping neighbors. A close-knit, connected community that values safety; clean, well-maintained streets and sidewalks; excellent schools; responsive government; and opportunity. I have represented Riss Lake at the Parkville level since 2017 and would be honored to continue to represent you and your family in the future.

We have accomplished a lot together.  Your concerns about utility work in your yard led to new laws to protect homeowners. Your concerns about transparency led to new processes. Your concerns about curbs and streets led to new funding priorities. I look forward to our continued partnership. I ask for your vote on Tuesday, April 8th. Together, we can create a brighter Parkville.

Sponsored Resolutions, Proclamations, & Legislation

Alderpersons provide strategic direction to city staff and vote on land use matters.  Sometimes, we have the opportunity to sponsor resolutions or legislation (ordinances).  Here are a few notable ones.

Covid 19

Vaccination Distribution

Parkville partnered with the Platte County Health Department, Riverside, and NorthPoint Development to assist in distribution of the COVID vaccine for those wanting to receive it. I developed a resolution early in the process in February 2021 to facilitate coordination among the parties and memorialize the joint effort as we worked with the Governor's office to secure vaccinations for residents.

Homeowner Protections

When the first fiber optic provider began work in Riss Lake, I received complaints from over 200 households ranging from broken dog fences and irrigation lines, to gas line strikes and water main breaks. At the time, Parkville had, in my opinion, a weak ordinance in place to protect homeowners. With your input, we developed a 47-page law that now protects homeowners since 2023.

Law

Human Services

I believe that opportunity should be accessible, everyone should get a fair shake, and we have an obligation to protect children. I sponsored a proclamation to prevent human trafficking in January 2025.
